The Day Chocolate Company was set up to fill a gap in the market! The British spend about £50 GBP on chocolate each year, munching their way through 16kg of the stuff and yet cocoa farmers in Ghana often earn under £50 GBP a year and struggle to survive!

One of the first lessons of business is to have a strong business proposition - ours was simple and audacious - to provide people with a real choice; the chance to buy a bar of delicious, irresistible chocolate knowing that the farmers that grow the cocoa in Africa get the benefit of a better price and a chance to plan for the future.

The Day Chocolate Mission statement is:

  • To take quality and affordable range of Fairtrade chocolate bars into the mainstream chocolate market
  • Raise awareness of Fairtrade issues among UK retailers and consumers of all ages
  • Be highly visible and vocal in the chocolate sector and thereby act as a catalyst for change
  • Pay a Fairtrade price for all the cocoa used in the products
